Duties

Plans, organizes, schedules, supervises and delivers visitor services operations to provide visitors of the park with opportunities to discover, appreciate, learn about and enjoy the place and its natural and/or cultural resources and understand their significance to Canada.

A secondary school diploma or PSC approved alternatives or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience in planning and providing services to the public, including addressing or anticipating the public’s needs and resolving complaints.

Experience working with Point of Sale (POS) systems and platforms.

Experience in supervising diverse teams.

Knowledge of Parks Canada’s vision, mandate, and corporate objectives, especially as they relate to visitor experience in national parks.

Willingness to work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial holidays when required.

Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required.

Willingness to work and/or travel in adverse weather conditions, varied terrains, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.

Willingness to work from various locations.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Obtain and maintain Reliability Status Security Clearance.

Maintenance of a valid class 5 Nova Scotia Driver’s License, or other provincial equivalency.
